Call him an engineer, architect, sculptor, or artist—Sachin George Sebastian responds to them all. His paper installations are now instantly recognizable, having made their appearance with increasing frequency at art fairs, galleries, and even fashion shows over the last few years. Both intricate and geometric as well as monumental and complex, his work—a commentary on the state of the Indian metropolis—uses paper both as medium and material. He is however, also exploring new directions in his artistic practice. We let him explain.
