At the newest exhibition at Vadehra Gallery in Delhi, it’s a star-studded lineup: Atul and Anju Dodiya, Arpita Singh, Gieve Patel, Sudhir Patwardhan, NS Harsha, Shilpa Gupta and Sunil Gupta, many of whom have created entirely new works for the exhibition, and in some cases, pulled out older, rarely-seen-before works.
Initially planned as an online show, CMBYN simultaneously opened as a physical show at Delhi’s Vadehra Gallery this week. “I’ve been collecting since I was eight years old,” says Mumbai-based art collector Udit Bhambri, who conceptualized the show. “Most of these artists are part of my personal collection, artists whose works have given me so much during this pandemic. I’ve had a relationship with them for years – visiting their studios, pestering them for work, begging them to sell me not-for-sale works. So I couldn’t imagine not having these artists as part of the show. They’re also part of Vadehra’s core roster.”
