Joya Mukerjee Logue b. 1976
Born in 1976 in Springfield, Ohio, USA, Joya Mukerjee Logue completed a bachelor’s of science degree from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. Mukerjee Logue’s practice of oil and watercolour painting is inspired by her mixed heritage, supported bymemories of the Indian influences while growing up in Ohio, ongoing research into her cultural identity and regular travels to India–with a focus on women, intimate portraits and everyday scenes.
Her work has been exhibited at High Line Nine Gallery, New York City (2023); Cromwell Place Gallery, London (2023); 21C Museum, Cincinnati, Ohio (2022); Annex Gallery, Cincinnati, Ohio(2021); and the Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati, Ohio (2019).
